Skills & Job Descriptions
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, SAP, customs procedures, and international trade compliance.
- Any relevant certifications in international trade or logistics would be an advantage.
- The Import Executive is responsible for managing and overseeing the entire import process, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and company policies
- This role involves coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs agents to ensure the timely and cost-effective importation of goods
- Coordinate with international suppliers to arrange the import of goods and materials.
- Negotiate with suppliers and freight forwarders to secure the best shipping rates and terms.
- Ensure all import activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, including customs requirements and trade compliance.
- Prepare and review all necessary import documentation, including purchase orders, invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
- Monitor and manage the clearance of goods through customs, addressing any issues that may arise.
- Track shipments from the point of origin to the final destination, ensuring timely delivery.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers to manage the logistics of import shipments.
- Communicate with internal teams (e.g., warehouse, procurement) to provide updates on shipment status and delivery timelines.
- Monitor and manage import costs, including duties, taxes, and shipping charges.
- Handle and resolve any issues related to delayed shipments, damaged goods, or discrepancies in documentation.
