Skills & Job Descriptions
- Process Deliverables: Perform process simulations and develop Heat and Material Balances (H&MB), Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs), and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs).
- Software Tools: Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) and design review packages (e.g., AutoCAD, Navisworks)
- Equipment Sizing & PDS: Execute detailed sizing calculations for equipment (pumps, control valves, vessels, heat exchangers) and complete comprehensive Process Data Sheets (PDS).
- Hydraulic Design: Conduct complete line sizing, pump suction/discharge calculations, NPSH evaluations, and relief system specifications.
- P&ID Development: Lead the creation, modification, and finalization of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate closely with other teams to ensure process design requirements are accurately captured in physical assets.
- Design Verification: Review, cross-verify, and correct general arrangement drawings, equipment datasheets, and vendor documentation to eliminate spatial and technical errors.
- Plant Layouting: Review and optimize equipment layouts and plot plans for spatial efficiency, maintenance access, and process safety constraints.
- Safety Reviews: Actively participate in project safety activities, including HAZOP and HAZID studies.
